Bulldogs coach Matt Diskin is expecting a tough challenge from Oldham.

Batley Bulldogs can pile pressure on the Kingstone Press Championship’s top four sides with victory over Oldham.

The Bulldogs are currently back in seventh place but are just two points behind London Broncos and Toulouse, who occupy spots in the top four and victory over Oldham would put Matt Diskin’s side right back in the mix.

Diskin knows his side must rise to the physical challenge Oldham will pose on Sunday.

The Bulldogs coach said: “Oldham are a well coached side, who enjoy the aggressive approach and it is important we match them.”

Oldham are in eighth place with a win, a draw and three defeats from five matches and their major injury worry surrounds full-back Scott Turner.

Turner was injured in Oldham’s 26-26 derby draw at Rochdale a fortnight ago and was left out of the Roughyeds’ side which beat amateurs Haydock 40-12 in the Challenge Cup fourth round last week.

He missed training this week and remains a concern.
