Bulldogs coach John Kear believes his side will need to win four of their remaining six matches if they are to break into the Kingstone Press Championship Shield top four.
Last week’s defeat to Workington leaves Batley three points behind fourth placed Town.
Kear said: “I think we are going to have to win four of our last six games to give ourselves any chance.
“We know it is a tough ask but it is achievable if we play like we had in our other games leading into the Shield.
“Workington are on a good run and, having spoken to (Town coach) Phil Vievers last week, he says the signing of Jarrod Sammut has really energised them, he is scoring and setting up tries every game.”
