New Batley Bulldogs head coach Matt Diskin will meet supporters for the first time on Thursday night with a gathering in Ron’s Lounge at the club starting at 7.30pm.
Diskin formally took over the reins on November 1, with the Bulldogs squad reporting back for pre-season training the following evening.
At 34, Diskin will be one of the youngest head coaches in the game, having had a spell as assistant at Bradford Bulls.
Diskin will outline his plans for the season at tonight’s meeting, while also fielding questions from fans.
Training has already included sessions at the Brain and Brawn Fitness Centre in Morley as Diskin begins a regime to have his squad in the best possible condition come the start of the new season.
Supporters attending Ron’s Breakfast Club, which takes place each Tuesday at 9.30am, have raised funds which has enabled the club to purchase five new rowing machines.
Everyone is welcome to Ron’s breakfast club, with a cost of £2 which includes a bacon sandwich.
