DANNY Maun praised the Bulldogs fans who made the transatlantic trip for last week’s historic game against Toronto Wolfpack.
Around 200 Batley fans are thought to have been at the Lamport Stadium and gave Maun a standing ovation at the end after he came out of retirement to play.
Maun said: “I think some Batley fans must have had family out there who came to the game but it was really nice to see and they all stayed on after.
“We were really looked after by Toronto and I know I had a few bad things to say about them but we couldn’t have asked for any more they were superb.
“The Toronto people were brilliant. There was a crowd of over 6,000 there and everyone wanted to talk to us after. I think the players must have walked round the pitch three times after the game, meeting their fans. They couldn’t get enough of us and really put us on a pedestal.”
n The official Batley Bulldogs Supporters Club will hold their annual meeting on Monday (July 23, start 7.30pm).
The meeting takes place at the Batley Irish Nash and all Supporter Club members are welcome to attend.
