Sharks could face Knights in Challenge Cup

Shaw Cross Sharks could face a trip to Normanton Knights in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup second round if they overcome York Acorn this Saturday (ko 2pm).

The first round tie was postponed last week and has been quickly re-arranged, with the winners away to Normanton on February 14.

The Challenge Cup draw was made on Monday evening by Leeds Rhinos cup winner Ryan Hall and Oliver Holmes of Castleford Tigers.

Full second round draw: Hunslet Warriors v West Hull, Wath Brow Hornets v Lock Lane, Hull Dockers v Walney Central, Kells v Nottingham Outlaws / Blackbrook, Elland v Egremont Rangers, Oulton Raiders v Valley Cougars, Widnes West Bank v Rochdale Mayfield, Siddal v Featherstone Lions / Queens, Normanton Knights v Shaw Cross Sharks / York Acorn, Skirlaugh v Royal Navy.

Saturday also sees three re-arranged ties in the BARLA National Cup postponed a fortnight ago.

Batley Boys welcome Illingworth to Halifax Road, Dewsbury Moor face an intriguing home clash against Hunslet Parkside Club, while Thornhill Trojans host Heysham Atoms at Overthorpe Park.

Thornhill Trojans have also confirmed that they will entertain Keighley Cougars in a warm-up game to their National Conference campaign on Saturday February 28.

Cougars coach Paul March played his junior rugby at Thornhill before signing for Wakefield Trinity.

He was also head coach of Thornhill from the summer of 2006 to October 2007, when he left to become coach of York City Knights.
