Sharks looking to bounce back in Conference

SHAW Cross Sharks will be keen to bounce from last week’s heavy home defeat by Egremont Rangers as they visit Elland on Saturday in National Conference League Division Two.

They trailed 30-0 at the break before losing 48-6 as Egremont moved above the Sharks, who slipped to sixth place in the table.

If the Sharks are to stay in touch in the promotion race they need to take maximum points at fourth-bottom Elland, who have two league wins from their nine games.

The Sharks will certainly be glad to see the back of October as they have one win in their last four matches.

Saturday’s game at Elland gives the Sharks the ideal chance to relaunch their promotion challenge before they entertain unbeaten leaders Hunslet Warriors.

The Sharks are seven points adrift of second-placed Eastmoor who host the Warriors this weekend in a top-two clash, so victories for the Sharks and Warriors could see the Leeds Road club back in the shake-up.
