Staincliffe and Thornhill share spoils

M Hodgson (two) and S Robson scored for Thornhill with D Lister, J Roadnight and D Pearson replying for Staincliffe, who remain a point clear at the top.

Shaw Cross Sharks are third, level on eight points with Thornhill, following a 7-5 win over Partners.

J Ripley, J Bates (two) and W Barstow helped Cross to victory, while M Chapman’s hat-trick took him joint top of the try scoring charts.

S Benton (two) continued his fine scoring form and is just one try behind the joint leaders, while D Hague, B Quinlan and G Thompson also crossed for Partners, who are a combined team of Drighlington RL and Morley RU players.

Dewsbury Celtic defeated Butchers Arms 7-5 and are handily placed going into Friday’s match against Thornhill.

Celtic tries came from M Oldroyd (two), C Heaton (three), P Heaton and T Bottomley.

Batley Boys (C Ford) suffered a 4-1 defeat to Dewsbury Moor, who had G Jessop, J Hammill and G West among their scorers.
