The Trojans ran in 12 tries, with Sam Ratcliffe having a terrific game with the boot, landing 11 conversions as Thornhill ran out 70-6 winners.

The result leaves Thornhill second in the table, level on six points with Lock Lane with a game in hand.

The writing was on the wall in the opening minute when Trojans winger Jordan Truelove opened the try scoring and Sam Ratcliffe converted.

Half-back James Craven has been in terrific form in the early part of Thornhill’s winter season and he was again named Trojans man-of-the-match.

Craven added a second Thornhill try and Truelove bagged his second before centre Ratcliffe added his name to the try scorers.

With Ratcliffe adding all three conversions, Thornhill led 24-0 inside the opening 10 minutes and a landslide was on the cards.

Truelove raced over to complete a 12-minute hat-trick, which Ratcliffe again improved.

Thornhill had to wait a further 11 minutes to register their next try, through opposite winger Chris Mitchell, with Ratcliffe again on target with the goal .

Centre Liam Morley added Thornhill’s seventh try in a blistering first half and Ratcliffe maintained his 100 per cent kicking record as they led 42-0 at the break.

Worth Valley replied with a consolation try early in the second half, through hooker Quinten Sneyd, which Jay Barres converted.

Normal service was resumed soon after as substitute Thornhill forward Mike Smith crossed but Ratcliffe was off target with the conversion attempt for the first and only time all afternoon.

Thornhill added a further four tries, through George Stott try, a Wayne Wilson double and Mitchell’s second, with Ratcliffe adding all four goals to end with a 26 points haul and round off a comprehensive win.

Thornhill are due to visit Brighouse Rangers A this Saturday.
