West End move second in Premier

WEST End moved second in the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division last week after Luke Sherman and an own goal saw them beat struggling Birkenshaw (Lee Brook) 2-1.

Shaun McDaid bagged a hat-trick as AFC Chickenley earned a 4-2 win over Battyeford. Chris Hadju fired the other with Steve Hadden and Joe Green replying.

Dewsbury Rangers maintained their three point lead at the top of the Championship with a 4-2 win at Gomersal. Bill Phethean and Matthew Bugg were among Rangers’ scorers, with James Heddon and Johnny Wilson on target for Gomersal, who slip to third.

Overthorpe Sports (Jake Harrison, Gareth Marshall, Will Spurr, Connor Spencer and Michael Haley) moved second after a 5-0 win over Birstall St Patricks.

Oakwell Motel are fifth after Nathan Hallas (two), Jonny Beverley, Guy Stuart and James Eatherley netted in a 5-1 win at Taylor, who replied through Suhel Jogee.

Sean Addy and Steve Young both fired hat-tricks as Hartshead battered bottom side Scholes Athletic 11-0. Paul Denvers (brace), Alex Barnes, Nathan Reed and Martin Ellis completed the rout.

With Division One leaders Northorpe United in cup action, Railway East Ardsley closed the gap to two points with a 7-3 win at Birkenshaw Reserves.

White Horse are a point clear at the top of Division Two after Dale Joy, Jamie Pearson and Darren Williamson netted in a 3-3 draw with Jardy Boys.

Heckmondwike SC demolished bottom club Rose of York 14-0 as Simon Willoughby (hat-trick), Mark Claughton (two), Ben McArdle (two), Richard Hartley, Joe Armour, Nathan Willoughby, Dominic Prendergast, James Reilly and Blake Maude all scored.

Overthorpe Sports Reserves (Elliott Brooke, Danny Marshall, Chris Goodair and Tristran Kennedy) drew 4-4 at Punch Bowl (Josh Wood 2, Kyle Kershaw and Kevin Goor), while Mirfield Town Reserves (Kashif Talib, Matthew Haigh, Ali Yakub and Naeem Khaliq) beat Batley Celtics (Dave Barlow and Rob Fleming) 4-2.

Towngate progressed to the semi-finals of the HW Challenge Cup after winning 8-2 against Mirfield Town. Joshua Cooke, Nathan Alexander and Danny Facey hit doubles, with Steve Richards and Josh Cayenne also on target. Adam Brown and Michael Rounding replied for Mirfield.

St John Fisher Reserves progressed to the HW Challenge Trophy semisafter Dominic Simpson (hat-trick), Jake Gibson, Ben Davies and Ryan Prince scored in a 6-1 win over Bay Horse East Ardsley (Paul Bunker).
