Win sees New Inn move top

NEW Inn Staincliffe are the new leaders of the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Division One after taking advantage of the fact that none of the teams around them were in league action.

Joe Fisher (two) and Liam Roadnight struck for New Inn in a 3-2 win at Mirfield Town (Adam Brown and Tom Wilks), a result that sees New Inn move two points clear at the top.

Birkenshaw Reserves and Overthorpe Town shared the points in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Jack Rogerson (brace), Joshua Smith and Craig Bell netted for the home side, with Overthorpe replying through a Robert Chapman double, plus strikes from John Hiscocks and Tom Hirst.
