Fringe comic’s pub show

Comedian Rosie Wilby will bring her Is Monogamy Dead? show to the Tap Room, Batley on Sunday November 10, which explores the options of polyamory and open relationships.

Rosie, of London, will delve into the thorny issue of sexual fidelity, backed by the results of an online survey she arranged.

The show, currently touring the UK, follows her 2010 sell-out show, spoof lecture The Science of Sex, for which she won a Fringe Report award.

She is also touring her Nineties Woman show, which uses video clips to trace a feminist collective that produced a women’s newspaper in the 1990s.

Rosie said: “These are two totally different shows, although both are gently questioning where we’ve got to in 2013 with sexual politics.

“My primary objective is to have some fun and make people laugh, but if I can make them think too then that’s a bonus.”

The comedian has previously appeared on Radio 4’s Loose Ends, Midweek and Woman’s Hour and has performed at various festivals, including Latitude, Glastonbury, Sydney Mardi Gras and New York City’s Fresh Fruit Festival.

The former musician and Time Out journalist also presents a show on Resonance FM and has written for the Independent.

The one-hour show will begin at 7.45pm at the pub in Commercial Street, Batley.
