and live on Freeview channel 276
The Dewsbury Beeline Heritage Trail film is a celebration of the completion of the Dewsbury Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI), a Kirklees Council and the National Lottery Heritage Funded project.
The film along with a printable trail allows viewers to discover ten historic buildings and the characters connected with them that together tell the story of Dewsbury’s past.

Councillor Peter McBride, Deputy Leader of Kirklees Council said: “The new trail produced by the Dewsbury Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI), is a wonderful way to learn about the history of Dewsbury and take in the wonderful architecture of the town as well as see first-hand the results of regeneration investment on the ground through the Townscape Heritage Initiative grants.
“Dewsbury has a proud history linked to the textile industry and the co-operative movement, with the THI’s key project Pioneer House opening this week now is the ideal time for us to remember the past whilst looking forward to our blueprint plans for the future of this great town.”
The film also features performers from ‘Walking Through Time’, a project by Creative Scene and Dewsbury Community Outreach, in which local residents bring characters from Dewsbury’s past, to life.
