Arrests over Huddersfield Town match disorder

FOUR men have been arrested in connection with violent disorder at Huddersfield Town’s League One play-off final at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Arrests were made after trouble broke out at the ground.

Jordan Paul Barnett, 29, of West Park Road, Batley appeared at Trafford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with violent disorder and two counts of assault. He was remanded in custody until June 8.

Three other men, aged 46, 21 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, asaault and assault with intent to resist arrest. They were bailed until June 7 pending further inquiries.

The victim of the alleged assault is believed to be from the Cleckheaton area. He was seriously hurt but is stable in hospital.
