“On looking back since we first formed in April 2015 we are very proud to see so many much needed improvements to our station being carried out.

“The new roof panels and the removal of the weeds from the station building are a great achievement.

“Our next main aim is to look at opening the shop and would welcome more volunteers to help make this possible.”

It was recently announced that transport firm Arriva will take over the Northern Rail company, which runs Batley Station.

FOBS have fought for many improvement to the station in a campaign that was backed by the Batley News.
