Bring out your bells

From now until Christmas, potential members can join in the fun at weekly open nights for a flavour of the team’s own brand of clog dancing.

The team performs around the country throughout the year, attending festivals in Whitby, Oxford and Northampton.

Squire Margaret Fowler said: “You meet lots of new people, make new friends and get to travel. We have a wonderful time.”

“We have a wide age range of members in the side, and the morris dancing certainly keeps us all very fit and healthy, our oldest dancer is 70.

“It would be great if anyone wants to come along and get an insight into our dancing and music.”

Musicians are also wanted to play accordions, drums, melodeons and more.

Persephone meets every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm at Hunsworth Community Centre, Green Lane, Hunsworth.
