Burglar apologises after raiding wrong house

Police are appealing for information after a woman found an intruder in her home who then told her he had the wrong address.

The 36-year-old woman was woken at around 3.45am this morning (Wednesday) by a male suspect who was in the upstairs hallway of her house in Ravensthorpe Road, Dewsbury.

He then left the property through the front door, indicating he had the wrong address.

No threats were made to the woman.

The suspect is described as an asian male, around 20 years old, with a short to medium build.

Detective Inspector Andy Leonard of Kirklees CID said: “This was a frightening experience for the woman. If anyone has any information, please contact Kirklees District CID via 101.”
