Hide AdEngland retained the Ashes after a draw in the third test at Old Trafford. But it was their dramatic win at Chester-le-Street that saw them win the series outright and the Reporter Series Fund benefit from the cash.
Ladbrokes manager Chris Singleton said: “We want to work with local businesses as much as we can and charitable work like this is always nice to do.”
Runners from across the district – including Reporter Series journalists – helped raise more than £500 last month for the fund by taking part in the Flat Cap Five race through Dewsbury. Other members of staff are still undertaking various challenges.
