Dementia Friends event to go ahead at Cleckheaton’s Masonic Hall

Between 10am-noon on Saturday January 24, dementia champion volunteer Lucy Collins will deliver a session to raise basic awareness at the Whitcliffe Road site.

People will learn the five key things about the condition, brought to life through activities.

People are then asked how they would turn their understanding into an action.

At the end, everyone has the chance to become a dementia friend, which is someone who can spot the signs of people with the condition in the community – when at the supermarket, for example –and offer to assist them.

Dementia Friends is funded by the Department of Health.
