Dewsbury Museum closed for ‘essential’ building work
The closure will be for up to two weeks from today, Monday February 24, to enable work to go ahead on the ceiling of the ground floor exhibition space.
It will re-open as soon as all the work has been completed.

Hide AdA free family craft event, Bug Me, where children can make weird and wonderful bugs from recycled materials, will still go ahead on Thursday at the museum in Crown Nest Park.
Kirklees Council apologised for the inconvenience that the closure may cause.
The museum also closed temporarily last April after a ceiling was damaged.
The Grade II listed museum and art gallery re-opened in August 2010 after and extensive programme of refurbishment and restoration.
Original features such as wood panelling, ornate ceiling work, fireplaces and mullioned windows were revealed during the work. Parts of the building date back to the 16th Century.
