Kirklees Council received more complaints about Wilson Wood Street than any other in North Kirklees since 2013.

It is one of 10 streets including Dale Close, Trinity Street and Hayburn Gardens in Healey, that have been named and shamed as the district’s most rubbish-strewn streets.

Toni Hall, who owns Batley Carr Day Nursery in Wilson Wood Street, said: “There’s a lot of litter on the street and it’s concerning because there’s children around and when there’s old furniture it’s a hazard.”

“The bins are overflowing, it has always been a problem here and I have noticed rodents and rats around the streets.”
