Family values at Thornhill

Brian Thornhill has welcomed his wife and twin daughters into the family firm, and even his teenage son is learning the ropes.

Brian Thornhill and Son Insurance Brokers, based in Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury, will celebrate 32 years of trading this year.

Brian’s wife Jackie joined its commercial department after having twins Sophie and Lucy, 26, and son James, 18, leaving a career in nursing.

Client development manager Lucy has been working at the firm for two and a half years, based at the company’s Skelmanthorpe office, while Sophie has added another string to the company bow with her new role at Clayton Holmes Naisbitt Financial Consultancy.

She has introduced a financial planning service at the Dewsbury office, linking the two firms together.

James, who is currently studying for his A-Levels at Silcoates School, Wakefield, joins the team during the school holidays to learn the ropes.

Brian said: “We always hoped one day all the children would be in the business.

“When James was born we changed the name from Brian Thornhill and Co to Brian Thornhill and Son.

“Perhaps it should be Brian Thornhill and Family!”
