Fire in child’s bedroom in Wyke
A Fire and Rescue crew from Odsal and one from Brighouse rushed to the Griffe Road house at 6.30am, where they tackled the blaze in a child’s bedroom for around an hour.
Odsal station watch commander Sally Evers said that everybody who was in the house got out safely and the family are now staying with relatives. The fire was contained to the one room.
She added that the fire had been detected with a smoke alarm, which supports the Fire and Rescue Service’s warnings that alarms need to be in working order.
