Flashmob dancers take over Dewsbury town centre

Dewsbury shoppers were treated to a Halloween-themed flashmob by a local dance troupe.

Girls from the Katie Philpott School of Dance have been working on their spooky routine since September under the supervision of choreographer Rachel Bowers.

Over 100 people gathered to watch when they performed the spontaneous dance in the marketplace on Saturday.

Their efforts to brighten up the town centre have been supported by Coun Darren O’Donovan after the group performed a pop flashmob last year.

“I’ve been working with Rachel for the past 18 months with the flashmobs, as they offer so much to the town centre and to the group. More events are planned so we urge everyone to stay on the look-out while shopping in Dewsbury!” he said.
