Garden is the blooming best!
It’s often said that the grass is always greener on the other side – but one couple can claim their back garden is one of the finest in the area.
Peter and Eleanor Horsfield have won the top prize in Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing’s annual gardening competition thanks to the impressive array of flowers, fruit and vegetables on their back lawn, which captured the imagination of the judges.
Peter said: “We’re thrilled to have won not just our category, but the overall prize in the competition.

Hide Ad“We spend a lot of time on the garden – I do the digging and cutting while Eleanor is the creative gardener – and it’s wonderful to get recognition for our efforts.”
The couple received £100 in gardening vouchers, which were donated by Barclays Bank.
