Sport, art and crafts, social groups, young people or even allotments can apply for access to Run-A-Club.

The website is designed to make all aspects of running a group safer, easier and more successful.

The licenses allow two years of access to the easy-to-use site.

As part of its drive to create a new way of operating, Kirklees Council wants to work together with local people to enable them to provide the activities and services that make life more enjoyable.

A Kirklees spokesman said that local groups made an important contribution to community life, but people running them often benefited from advice on the best way to go about it.

The Run-A-Club website is one way the council is trying to provide this support.

And by paying for the licences the council hopes to gain valuable feedback on how useful the site is and what other support may be needed to enable community groups to thrive.

The offer is open to anyone running a club or community group in Kirklees.

Applications for a licence can be made by visiting www.kirklees.gov.uk/runaclub.Alternatively, anyone interested can call 01484 414824 (and choose option one) or email [email protected]
