Alison McGovern MP (Lab, Wirral South) and Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Dewsbury, Paula Sherriff, talked to parents about the party’s pledge to increase free childcare for working mums with three and four-year-olds from 15 to 25 hours a week.

Ms McGovern said: “It was great to meet staff and parents at Dewsbury Moor Children’s Centre. They told me how much of a crucial resource the centre is to local families. “Many mums want to return to work but simply find the huge costs of childcare make it prohibitive – Labour will change that so mums who want to work can work.”
