Man assaulted in Ravensthorpe

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Ravensthorpe last night (Friday).

A 43-year-old man was attacked by another male on Charles Street, at around 5pm, following an argument.

He sustained bruising and swelling to the temple and minor cuts to the head during the assault and was taken to hospital to be checked over.

The suspect is described as being aged 35 to 40, around 6ft tall, broad and of middle-eastern appearance with a black goatee style beard. He wore a red bomber jacket.

Anyone who heard the argument, or who witnessed the assault, is asked to contact Kirklees Policing Team via 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
