MCard aims to make travelling across West Yorkshire easier
More than 700 Payzone outlets are making travelling across West Yorkshire much easier for passengers.
Bus and train operators teamed up to launch ‘MCards’ – similar to Oyster cards used in London – which enable passengers to travel across the region’s bus and rail network using a single ticket.
The smartcard readers for all 700 Payzone stores in West Yorkshire were installed by the end of last year.
Chairman of West Yorkshire Ticketing Company Richard Soper said: “West Yorkshire is at the forefront of this activity and this is the biggest operational scheme to date outside of London.”
