Mirfield teenager banned from London Park Estate

A TEENAGER has been banned from an estate in Mirfield for an extra two years.

Jordan Watkinson, 18, cannot enter London Park Estate until April 10, 2014.

He has been persistently involved in anti-social behaviour on the estate and was given an exclusion order in December last year.

In January he was jailed for six months for breaching it and at Manchester Crown Court on Monday the order was extended for a further two years.

The order bans Watkinson, formerly of Northway Gardens on the estate, from using violence or abusive words or behaviour there.

It also bans him from harassing, intimidating, pestering or causing nuisance or annoyance to any one there.

It comes as a result of work by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team.

They have been working since summer 2011 to tackle antisocial behaviour and criminal activity on London Park Estate.

KNH chief executive Simon Rogers said: “This is a great result for all those involved in the case and for the residents of London Park.

“KNH and its partners in the police and the council take antisocial behaviour very seriously.

“I hope this case shows that we will take serious action against the small minority who make life miserable for their neighbours.”
