MP's bid to boost charities
Launching the initiative by announcing Batley Food Bank as her chosen charity for this month, the MP is encouraging local people to donate to, or volunteer for the food bank.
The campaign will see her nominate a charity each month to be featured on her website in order to showcase their brilliant work, to highlight any volunteering opportunities, and to encourage people to give what they can to these great causes.

“As the MP for Batley and Spen, it’s heartbreaking to hear stories such as a young mum with a premature baby who, having been sanctioned, has needed to turn to the Food Bank, or of people in work whose wages don’t keep up with the cost of living.
“I know that Batley Food Bank is more important now than ever before. I encourage anyone who can, to donate food or funds to the charity, and to consider committing some of their time as a volunteer.”
Ken Lowe, chairman of the food bank said: “What a brilliant idea it is to have a charity of the month, shows just how thoughtful and caring Tracy is.

“It is particularly welcome right now because we are busier than I have ever known and are finding it ever more difficult to keep up with demand.”
