New foundation helps homeless back into work
The new charity aims to help homeless people living rough on the street back into work.
The Howarth Foundation received charitable status with the specific objective of ‘The prevention or relief of poverty in respect of individuals who are, or who have recently been, homeless in the districts of Leeds and Kirklees’.

He said: “We raised a not insignificant amount of money for local charities and while they are all are good causes, I felt that helping the homeless was not only a good cause but frankly a needier one.
“It makes no sense for fit, able bodied or otherwise individuals to be sleeping rough with no work to go to and no prospect of a decent future when there are clearly opportunities out there for them.
“The foundation has already secured the support of many local businesses who have offered to provide work.”
