Letter: Mirfield Show was best ever

I wish to thank everyone who came along to Mirfield Show 2013 making it one of the biggest and best shows ever. I wish to thank all the exhibitors and entrants for participating in all the classes and competitions that maintain the roots of the show - and all the sponsors, advertisers, stall holders, local organisations, businesses, volunteers and committee members past and present who have helped make the show the success it is.

I also would like to thank the The Mirfield Reporter - especially Georgina Morris - for their continued support and excellent coverage before and after the show. As a not-for-profit event, any and all coverage is always very much appreciated.

And on a personal note, I also wish to thank the Karen Bullivant, the chairman, who has guided us to another great show, and the team of volunteer committee members that I have had so much fun working alongside all year. It is year long planning - and some stressful times - but when I see so many happy faces there on the day, I know that all the hard work that everyone has put in to make Mirfield Show happen, is worth it.

Planning has already started for 2014 and hopefully we will be able to make it even bigger and better whilst maintain the community and child-friendly foundations that the original come-back committee of 1995 laid down. What we need now are your ideas and feedback on how to make this happen. We are also looking out for new team members. So please get in touch or let us know your thoughts at [email protected].
