New chapter in church’s history
Work is well under way on our history of the Holy Spirit Church and St Patrick’s School in Heckmondwike.
It’s a great story of a Catholic community, of two Irish priests, one of whom who sold his own art collection to build a church and became G K Chesterton’s “Father Brown”; the other of whom who was a friend and chaplain of the Apollo astronauts and the American Ryder Cup golf team – and much, much more.
The book also includes a page where people can remember their deceased families and friends.
