There was Eddie with my grandad
i was sitting watching TV with my wife Julie and son Ben when the programme that came on was Eddie Waring: Mr Rugby League :
It was a documentary about Eddie Waring, the man who helped raise Rugby League’s profile. As a rugby player in the past myself, I watched with great interest and I saw this photo pop up on the TV screen of Eddie Waring and sitting in the middle of the front row was my grandad, Edward Morton. Eddie Waring was standing at the end.
He was a well-known sportsman at Thornhill, the team was the Black Knights.
