Place your bets on the royal baby

Hide AdCarrigill’s Bookmakers, which has branches in Dewsbury, Mirfield, Ravensthorpe and Heckmondwike, is inviting its punters to try their luck on the baby’s name, hair colour and gender.
It seems the owner of Carrigill’s, George Carrigill, doesn’t have any insider information on the gender of the baby, with odds of the royal child being a boy or a girl both at evens.

Mr Carrigill insists the bets are just a bit of a fun – and he is keeping his eye out for anyone with inside information.

Ladbrokes is taking bets on the weight of the royal baby, with the bookies favouring 7lb to 7lb 15oz at 2/1.
But if you really want to throw caution to the wind, you could put your money on some of its more bizarre bets.
The less traditional name of Chardonnay has odds of 250/1, while a baby named after chart-topper Adele would get you odds of 200/1.
