Police release CCTV image in hunt for Dewsbury hi-vis knife robber

POLICE have released a CCTV image of an armed robber who threatened a Dewsbury shopkeeper with a knife before stealing the shop's till.

The terrified shopkeeper, 59, was threatened with what has been described as a kitchen knife and suffered minor injuries to his hand.

The assailant grabbed the till and tried to damage and cut a cord attaching it to the counter before escaping with the till.

The incident happened just before 7.30pm on Sunday December 10, but police only released details today (Friday).

The man shown in the image is described as being 5ft 6 in tall. He had his face covered and was wearing a high visibility vest over a hooded grey tracksuit top with the hood up.

Police say that he stood outside the premises for about 30 minutes before the offence took place.
