After a successful year raising money for, and supporting, charities based in the district, Ms Brabin is appealing for suggestions as to which charities to get behind - and this can be anything from a kids’ sports club to a food bank.

Members of Parliament are asked to take part in surveys, from which they receive a small financial thank you.

Any money Ms Brabin makes from these surveys she donates to her chosen charity of the month, and if she doesn’t do a survey that month, she makes a donation of £50 herself.

Previously, Ms Brabin has raised hundreds of pounds for local good causes, including Batley Food Bank, Rainbow Baby Bank in Heckmondwike, Howden Clough Juniors FC and Downs and Special Friends group based in Batley.

Ms Brabin said: “It’s been great meeting so many wonderful charities and community groups over the past three years.

“I’ve seen first-hand the great work these charities do.”

Anyone with Charity of the Month suggestions is asked to email [email protected] or comment on Ms Brabin’s Facebook page.
