Pat said she has loved her time with the school – and has lived in the village since she was two.

“We were loved and respected in those days and if we can give that to these children, what better start could they have?” Pat said.

Vicar of St Paul’s Church, Birkenshaw, the Rev Danny Walker, said: “Through all her years of dedicated service, she really has been unstinting in the time and contribution she’s given to the school.”
