Talented artists to showcase work at exhibition

Dewsbury Art Group’s annual exhibition, which features work by more than 22 local artists, starts on Saturday.

The free one-week exhibition showcases artwork including watercolours, oils, acrylics, charcoals and textiles the Victoria Hall in Dewsbury Town Hall.

The group’s featured artist this year is Lesley Bohanna, of Heckmondwike.

She will have 38 pieces of her textile artwork, which is inspired by the history of materials, on display.

The exhibition runs from Saturday until July 18 but is closed on Sunday July 12.

People can see the artwork on display from 11am-4pm at the town hall.
