Mercedes driver caught speeding 136mph on M62 to get a burger

A man claimed that he drove 136 miles per hour on the M62 in West Yorkshire because he wanted a burger.

The man, from Bolton, said he was driving to Bradford specifically for the burger.

However, officers stopped him in Huddersfield due to the speed he was driving at.

It then transpired that he had no insurance.

Officers from the WYP Roads Polcing Unit said: "Seized in Huddersfield for no insurance after caught travelling at 136 mph on the M62.

"Driver on his way from Bolton to Bradford for a burger.

"Believed he was using third party cover, found not to be the case!

"Reported to court."
