Update: Mum in court accused of tot’s murder

Sonia Bellfield, 30, appeared at Leeds Crown Court flanked by five nurses on Wednesday.

Her daughter Jasmine’s body was found at the family home last year.

A post-mortem proved inconclusive and further tests are being carried out to establish how the two-year-old died.

Bellfield, of Naylor Court, Dewsbury, was bailed into the care of a secure unit and will appear in court again next week.
