Walk this way with Rotary

The event, on Sunday April 6, takes place on the banks of the Calder and Hebble canal between Horbury and Sowerby Bridge – and for the second time there will be a link to the Spen Valley Greenway from the canal bank at Ravensthorpe through to Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton.

Optional walk distances vary from 2.2 miles between Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton, to the full length of just under 20 miles from Sowerby Bridge to either Horbury or Cleckheaton.

The money raised will go towards four hospices – Kirkwood, Overgate, Wakefield and the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. The three previous walks have raised over £42,000.

An entry fee of £6 for adults and £1 for children is used to cover the provision of transport for any walkers to or from the seven start points.
