Batley Boys seal stunning BARLA National Cup victory
Although centre Josh Whitehead scored a first half try, which Adam Bingham converted, Batley found themselves 20-6 down at half-time against the Pennine League Premier Division outfit.
However, a brace of tries from Matthew Sheridan, together with three more Bingham goals, levelled matters.

Hide AdWith just three minutes remaining, man-of-the-match Bingham landed a drop-goal to book Batley’s place in the last 16.
n Dewsbury Moor earned a 16-10 derby win away to Ossett to reach the BARLA Cup second round.
Dean Arundel opened the scoring with an unconverted try for a Moor side who included four 17-yerar-olds but Jason Rhodes replied for Ossett and Mick Dyson edged them ahead with the conversion.
Anthony Boardman, Phil Shotton and Toby Richardson combined for Andrew Robinson to score an convert as Moor led 10-6 at half-time. Bret Barlow set up a storming finish with an equalising try for Ossett.

Hide AdPeter Robinson attempted a drop-goal which went to ground but Ryan Johnson nipped in to gather and score. Andrew Robinson converted to seal the win.
n Thornhill Trojans sealed a 34-22 win over Slaithwaite in the Pennine Premier Division.
Adam Bird, Jake Wilson and Ben Kendall - on the end of a brilliant move - scored first half tries, with Andrew Bates landing two goals but Slaithwaite went into the break level at half-time.
Jake Ratcliffe was sin-binned for a high tackle, while Jake Wilson (Thornhill) and Stuart Dunbar (Slaithwaite) were yellow carded for fighting.
Richard Bostock marked his return to Thornhill with a try and after Slaithwaite’s Adam Harrison was sent off, Bates kicked the penalty before late tries from Bird and Wilson sealed victory.
