Celtic climb back to third after 11 try win

CELTIC got back to winning ways and moved back to third in the Co-operative Conference National table with an 11-try spree in Crow Nest Park.

In the first minute Alex Walmsley broke 30 metres and passed to Tom Kilroy, who sent a return pass for Alex Walmsley to run the last 30 metres and score, Tom Harrington converted.

In the sixth minute Tom Perks took a tap penalty and sent Danny Crabtree over, Harrington added the goal.

After 10 minutes Celtic made it 18-0 when Danny Thomas passed inside to Liam Walmsley and Danny Crabtree supported to score his second try, again goaled by Harrington.

Dan Stubbs almost got Warrington off the mark but failed to ground the ball. However, they broke through in the 23rd minute Warrington replied when full-back Chris Campbell ran 50 metres to score between the posts, Liam Walsh added the goal.

Celtic struck again when Thomas chipped over for Liam Walmsley to score between the posts, Harrington’s goal made it 24-6 at the break.

Warrington scored their second try by Craig Middlemore in the corner, there was no goal.

Celtic took advantage of the slope in the 47th minute when Pat Foulstone broke on a 60-metre sprint to score between the posts, Harrington converted.

Three minutes later Josh West fed Thomas, who dashed 30 metres to the posts, Harrington goaled.

Warrington chipped over only for Josh West to collect and pass to Foulstone, celebrating his 21st birthday, who raced 80 metres to the posts.

Celtic’s man of the match Alex Walmsley returned after a spell on the bench and scored after a 40-metre break, then Joe Waters looked for support before dummying to score, Harrington added all three goals.

Celtic continued to dazzle the Wizards and Harrington sent Thomas under the sticks, converted by Harrington.

In the last minute Warrington again chipped over and this time Danny Crabtree collected and sent Harrington clear to touch down and add his 11th conversion.

Tomorrow, both the under Celtic Under-18s and open age are at Hemel Stags. The Under-18 team coach leaves at 7.30am for a 12.30 kick-off and the open-age at 9am for a 2.30pm start.
