AFC Chickenley earned only their second win in the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division last weekend as they defeated Roberttown Rovers 4-0.
A double from Ryan Simmonds plus strikes from Michael Chadwick and Dan Tolson were enough to secure Chickenley’s win as they moved level on seven points with third-bottom Wellington.
Walkers Hounds maintained their four point lead at the top with a 3-1 win over Navigation last weekend.
Goals from Danny Stocker, Richard Kettlewell and Conor Sykes ensured Hounds claimed the three points with Rob Johnson netted Navigation’s consolation but they are back in fifth place nine points off the pace.
Deighton WMC remain in second place after Coron Rowe (brace), Declan James, Adam Hill and Paul Pyke all scored in a 5-4 win over Mirfield Town, who had Thomas Morton, Niall Raymond, Kieran Corley and Oliver Rounding on the scoresheet
It was Mirfield’s first defeat of the season and leaves them eight points behind the leaders with two games in hand.
