The investment in the Terriers’ Academy has been substantial and has seen substantive improvements, with more quality youngsters emerging from the system at the club than at any time in the last decade.

Duane Holmes may just be the latest to emerge, but thanks to the changes at the club he won’t be the last.

If the Academy continues to produce players like Holmes and Jack Hunt before him, it won’t be long before a Huddersfield Town Academy graduate plays for his country at full international level.

Nahki Wells has made a substantial step up in signing from Bradford City.

He’s not the last piece in the puzzle - it’s unlikely that he’ll be the difference between mid-table and the play-offs - but it has made the football world at large sit up and take note that things have changed in Huddersfield, and very much for the better.
