Gareth’s cut aids Rangers

DEWSBURY Rangers Old Boys footballer Gareth Smith has had a sponsored hair cut to raise funds for their new clubhouse.

Gareth, 29, told his team-mates he would not have a hair cut until he scored a hat-trick for Rangers Reserves, who play in the Wakefield League. After that failed to materialise, he decided to have his shoulder length locks shaved off by Under-10s coach and player Stephen McDaid to raise additional funds for the new clubhouse and he collected £262.

Gareth’s eldest son Adam has played for the junior section for a season-and-a-half, while younger son Ben joined the Under-7s in September.
