Hopton needed extra time before seeing off the plucky challenge of Barnsley side Wyke Wanderers 2-1 thanks to a Declan James brace.

Clough recorded a 7-2 victory over Earby Town, while Thornhill went close to making it a hat-trick of local clubs through as they pushed Salts all the way before being edged out 7-5 after extra time, as they tie ended 5-5 in 90 minutes.

Liam Royal scored for Lower Hopton Reserves but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 home defeat by Tadcaster Magnets in the WR County Challenge Trophy second round.

Marsh overcame Savile Youth 5-4 in the Spen Valley League Premier Division as Chris Blackburn hit a hat-trick with Richard Harvey and Mark Milner also on target. Savile replied through Imran Patel, Mohsin Hazi, Zubair Ibrahim and an own goal.

Shamraz Hussain, Umar Ali and Mohammed Yousef Alam struck as Athletico beat Savile Town (Amaan Safeer) 4-1.

Adeeb Jawad, Atif Shehzad, Shoaib Javed (two) and Umar Ali found the net as Girlington defeated Smoking Aces (Ashraf Navsarka, Imran Farooq and Mohammed Adam) 5-3.

Norfolk edged a nine-goal thriller against Cleckheaton Sporting in Division One, with a brace apiece from Said Said and Nazakat Ali, together with an Ismail Loonat strike.

Cleckheaton replied through Matty Garforth, Matty Softly, C Foster and an own goal.

Suleman Variava and Moosa Hafeji scored as Inter Batley drew 2-2 with George Healey (Phil Clarke and Luke Newsome), while Mount Pleasant beat Howden Clough 4-3 thanks to Mohammed Patel (two), Adam Rawat and Mohammed Omar. Reece Scholes (two) and Ryan Keracher replied for Clough.

Shabbaz Patel scored the only goal as Savile United beat Whitburn Athletic in the Spen Valley Trophy and are joined in the next round by Palestino, who overcame Idle 4-1 with Abdur Rahim, Ben McCardle, Ryan Sanson and James Chadwick the scorers.
