Huddersfield Town move to within two points of second placed Sheffield United

HUDDERSFIELD Town moved to within two points of second-placed Sheffield United on Tuesday night thanks to a hard-fought win over Hartlepool.

Alan Lee’s late strike was enough to give the Terriers victory.

Sheffield United suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at Walsall, which allowed Town to move within two points of the Blades.

Sheffield Wednesday, under new manager Dave Jones, beat Bury 4-1 on Tuesday and they are a point clear of Town having played a game more.

Leaders Charlton suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Colchester but they remain 13 points clear of second placed Sheffield United and 15 ahead of Huddersfield.
