Mills aiming to sink leaders in top two tussle

HOPTON Mills travel to leaders Scholes tomorrow aiming for a victory which would keep alive their hopes of winning the Central Yorkshire League Division Two title (start 1pm).

Scholes have led the division all season but they suffered a surprise defeat to Buttershaw St Pauls A last week.

Hopton’s convincing nine-wicket victory over Townville A saw them close the gap on Scholes to nine points with three games remaining.

Victory at New Popplewell Lane tomorrow would take the title race into the final fortnight of the season.

Mills are eying a double success this time as their A team are top of Division Four, a point clear of Oulton A and two in front of Caribbean A.

Mills A entertain Methley B tomorrow.

Moorlands sit out tomorrow’s round of matches in Division One but they will have a keen eye on results elsewhere.

Moorlands are level on 79 points with second placed Batley, who play their game in hand when they visit Buttershaw St Pauls.
